Abstract
swim training, with the central goal that every child, regardless of their economic circumstances, deserves to learn how to swim.The program provides swimming lessons to children who otherwise might not have the opportunity to learn basic water safety skills.In recent years the company has partnered with several YMCAs across the country to provide the lessons.Since its launch in 2021, the program has committed some $3 million to 21 YMCAs across the country, providing training to over 30,000 children and helping to train about 2,000 lifeguards.The company's workers also support the initiative through campaigns that collect donations of new swimsuits, towels and swim goggles, the lack of which can be a barrier for many families.Another area of support is disaster relief.Poolcorp provides cash contributions to humanitarian relief efforts in communities impacted by natural disasters, such as fires, floods, hurricanes and earthquakes.In 2021, it also launched a new program to support Poolcorp employees who were personally impacted by disasters or other catastrophic events.The program-the Poolcorp Employees 1st Fund-is funded by the company as well as donations from Poolcorp employees and vendors.It provides cash grants to the company's employees in the U.S., Mexico and Canada who meet the program criteria.In addition, Poolcorp employees volunteer with a wide variety of nonprofit organizations serving their communities, whether it's helping to build homes for low-income families, cleaning up and/or refurbishing community parks and public spaces, or otherwise helping to make their communities better places to live and work.These efforts are largely coordinated by the Poolcorp Stewardship Committee, which the company formed some 20 years ago to identify opportunities for employee giving and volunteer service.The company encourages this through a matching gift program that doubles the impact of employee contributions to eligible charities of their choice.In recent years, the company's workers have served with and financially supported groups such as the Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, Hope & Heroes, Junior Achievement, the National Forest Foundation, the Northshore Food Bank and the YMCA, among others.Further information can be found on the company's website.
