Abstract

Existence results for initial value problems and periodic boundary value problems for systems of Stieltjes differential equations are established. Systems with and without functional dependence are studied. No monotonicity conditions are imposed. For this purpose, we introduce the notions of lower and upper solutions for systems of Stieltjes differential equations. An application to the predator-prey model describing the dynamics of a fish population subjected to predation and seasonal fishing strategy is presented.
