RESUMOOs seres humanos surgiram na natureza e fazem parte dela, haja vista que não podem sobreviver sem os bens naturais encontrados no meio natural.Todavia, com o modo de produção capitalista e seu auge a partir da Revolução Industrial, as alterações na natureza passaram a ser de tal forma, que seu ritmo de recuperação passou a ser mais lento que o de exploração e concepções de que a natureza deveria estar a serviço do homem se tornaram frequentes.Com essa percepção, passou a existir a preocupação a respeito da preservação ambiental.A educação ambiental surge como forma de conscientizar os cidadãos das consequências geradas pelas ações humanas.Com isso, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a relação entre a educação ambiental e a manutenção da injustiça ambiental, compreender o que é educação ambiental e os desafios de concretizá-la no espaço escolar.Dessa forma, a educação ambiental possibilita a prática de atividades na escola que favorecem a formação de uma consciência sobre o uso dos recursos naturais e a importância da conservação dos mesmos para as gerações futuras.
