Abstract
Le présent article examine le recours au métatexte en poésie dans un contexte d’urgence sociale, à partir des recueils Gerbe de sang de René Depestre et Cette Igname brisée qu’est ma terre natale de Sonny Rupaire. Le retour du poète sur sa propre fonction est l’expression d’une traditionnelle interrogation littéraire, inépuisable, que l’on peut reformuler ainsi : quel est le rôle du poète dans la société, que peut la poésie ? Dans le métatexte se dessinent des postures singulières que nous proposons de mettre au jour.
