Abstract
Dans la pièce de théâtre Le Petit Frère du rameur, l’auteur togolais Kossi Efoui problématise le monde des représentations (littéraires, médiatiques, cinématographiques, etc.) et, parallèlement, la condition de l’exilé. En quoi la conscience critique de l’oeuvre, l’écriture et la dramaturgie sont-elles mises au service d’une interrogation sur l’appartenance, l’identité et la mémoire en contexte d’exil ? Comment, à travers cette métathéâtralité, Efoui éclaire-t-il la violence de l’invisibilité sociale, mais aussi les possibilités créatrices qui émergent des marges ? Cette étude explorera les formes et fonctions de la métathéâtralité mobilisées dans cette pièce, en particulier « l’oeuvre dans l’oeuvre » et l’élaboration du chantier de l’écrivain.
