Inselbergues são ricos habitats de refúgio silvestre. Na cidade de Patos (PB), inselbergues têm sido alvos do processo de urbanização ineficaz. A pesquisa objetivou copilar dados da diversidade de plantas e animais destas áreas e avaliar ações antrópicas para fundamentar estratégias educacionais como instrumentos de Educação Ambiental (EA) e sustentabilidade urbana. O percurso metodológico enveredou pela pesquisa básica, exploratória, bibliográfica e pelo estudo de caso. O levantamento literário comprovou o registro de 187 espécies de plantas, destacando endemismo e quanto a fauna, durante o desenvolvimento da pesquisa, não foram encontradas bibliografias abordando esta investigação nestes inselbergues. Na Avaliação de Impacto Ambiental, verificaram-se atividades antrópicas de alta magnitude. O prognóstico validou o peso que processos de EA detêm na transformação da sociedade e fragilidades locais em suas bases, que se encontram desarticuladas. As ameaças à ambiência de inselbergues estão enraizadas na realidade cultural, reivindicando-se da educação, caminhos transformadores de temáticas e papéis que ressignifiquem a vida e a urbanização inclusiva, segura, resiliente e sustentável para Patos.
