O artigo a seguir é produto de uma palestra apresentada no Colóquio Encruzilhadas, Fricções e Dissensos na Arte Colaborativa, realizado na UFMG em novembro de 2022. O objetivo do texto é pensar a articulação entre os conceitos de “comum” e “comunidade” por meio de uma reflexão sobre o “comum” enquanto elemento fundante de sociabilidade e enquanto objeto de luta política a partir da perspectiva desenvolvida por alguns pensadores contemporâneos. Para isso o texto: 1) apresenta uma caracterização geral do conceito de comunidade nos termos em que foi pensado especialmente pela tradição sociológica; 2) aponta a crítica de Roberto Esposito a esta abordagem e sua reinterpretação dos conceitos de comunidade e de comum e, por fim; 3) conecta sua reflexão sobre a necessidade de expansão dos espaços do comum com outras perspectivas contemporâneas em torno de uma política do comum, tal como desenvolvidas por Hardt e Negri, Silvia Federici e Dardot e Laval.
