Abstract
L’article interroge l’anthologie de poésie baroque comme format éditorial plastique. En l’occurrence, précédée d’un essai qui évalue les classements des anthologies disponibles en combinaison avec une poétique de l’imaginaire parente de celle de Gaston Bachelard, l’anthologie étudiée ici prétend ne pas conférer une légitimité d’auteur au poète du xvi e siècle André Mage de Fiefmelin. Opération éditoriale entourée d’humilité, possible malgré les lacunes de l’érudition, elle permet au poète Pierre Menanteau de formuler une poétique indirecte et de manifester sa maîtrise du champ poétique par une historiographie d’écrivain. Tandis que le genre du florilège collectif ressurgit dans l’essai critique, l’anthologie annoncée comme baroque obéit davantage à un principe de géopoétique et de poétique des éléments. La poésie baroque est ainsi tenue pour un fait contemporain susceptible d’éclairer le passé : réciproquement, le sens du tragique discerné chez André Mage vient enrichir l’intelligence de la poésie vivante comme discours où ce sens du tragique, rattaché en particulier à la Bible, est combattu. Les prix et la publicité à la parution du volume indiquent son efficace consacrante immédiate pour Pierre Menanteau et, à plus long terme, pour André Mage.
