Abstract
On essaie de construire une théorie de l'explication de texte, une des gloires de l'université française, et une pratique que les anglo-saxons ont perdue. La théorie passe par cinq détours philosophiques : la distinction kantienne entre jugements réfléchissant et déterminant ; les concepts leibniziens de monade et de pli ; les concepts deleuziens de surface et de style ; la distinction que fait Althusser entre le juste et le vrai ; enfin le modèle d'interprétation ALTER. De ces détours émergent une série de thèses qui constituent une théorie de l'explication de texte. Cette théorie est appliquée brièvement à deux articles du Guardian et à un texte en prose de la poétesse canadienne Karen McCormack.
