Abstract
What contribution can a legal purchase obligation make to increasing the sales of sustainable agricultural products and supporting sustainable farmers based in the Netherlands? The testing of the conditions and effects shows that the effectiveness of a purchase obligation for sustainable agrifood products in achieving the goals would be limited. The findings are based on literature study, expert sessions and stakeholder interviews.
