Abstract
In this chapter, Chris Vanderwees speaks with four psychoanalysts in Québec about the importance of François Peraldi, who taught Jacques Lacan’s work for many years in his own public seminars. Peraldi’s work is less known outside of Québec, but he was an important associate of both William Richardson and John Muller at the Stockbridge Lacanian Clinical Forum, influenced a generation of psychoanalysts throughout Québec, and created a network of psychoanalytic study groups. Michel Peterson, Louise Grenier, Gilles Chagnon, and Marie Hazan each speak individually with Vanderwees about their own perspectives on Peraldi’s teaching.
