Abstract
En sia komenco, Esperantologio, la studado de la fenomeno Esperanto, traktis ĉefe la lingvon. Sed Zamenhof, la iniciatinto de Esperanto, kreis, helpe de la unuaj adeptoj, ne nur lingvon sed ankaŭ komunumon kun akompanaj kulturaj kaj historiaj valoroj. Sekve, paralele kun la ekspansio de la Esperanto-movado, la studkampo Esperantologio iom post iom vastiĝis por inkluzivi historion, sociajn movadojn, literaturon kaj aliajn kampojn, inkluzive de la vivo kaj ideoj de Zamenhof. Interlingvistiko, la kompara studo de la lingvaj kondiĉoj por universala aŭ internacia lingvo, restis ĉefe lingvistike bazita kaj asociiĝis kun la multaj projektoj por ideala tutmonda lingvo aŭ helplingvo. Hodiaŭ, Esperantologio havas siajn apartajn instituciojn kaj apartajn alirojn al la fenomeno Esperanto: ili inkluzivas ne nur lingvistikon, sed socilingvistikon, etnografion, historion, literaturon kaj abundajn aliajn temojn, inkluzive la evoluon de la skriba kaj parola lingvo tra pli ol 130 jaroj.
