Abstract
L’annonce de la surdité est un évènement majeur pour les parents car ils se retrouvent face à un enfant qui n’entend pas, situation linguistique inédite. La préconisation, suite au diagnostic, est, pour la plupart du temps, l’appareillage afin que l’enfant devienne entendant. La non (ou mé-) connaissance de la langue des signes et de la culture sourde fait que la modalité visuo-gestuelle est regardée au travers d’ a priori liés aux conflits linguistiques. Les parents étant entendants, l’enfant doit l’être afin d’assurer un équilibre comunicationnel au sein de la famille et de la société. À partir de données recueillies lors d’entretiens semi-guidés avec des parents de Canada et de France, nous souhaitons explorer les rapports que les parents peuvent avoir avec l’apprentissage de la langue des signes, voire l’immersion dans la communauté sourde et par conséquent dans le bilinguisme sourd, et définir s’ils établissent des liens antinomiques entre l’oralisation et la langue des signes.
