Abstract

This is a case study on seven Year 3 pupils in a primary school in Hulu Langat district.The purpose of this study is to investigate these pupils" ability in problem solving using the Polya Problem Solving Model.There seem to be an improvement in the marks scored after the teacher"s intervention using Polya Problem Solving Model.Instrument used in this study are the pre and post tests.Data collected were analysed quantitatively to obtain the percentage score.The findings showed that pupils" had acquired problem solving skills in Mathematics after being taught to use the Polya"s Model.The implication of this study is that the Polya Problem Solving Model has potential in improving pupils" ability in problem solving tasks in Mathematics.
