Abstract
Après les célébrations du quatrième centenaire de la naissance du Barde, il était nécessaire de scruter le revers de la médaille et de s’intéresser à toutes les formes d’insatisfaction, voire de désaveu, qui poussent à réécrire, transformer, manipuler ou massacrer le grand homme. Il ne s’agit pas de faire une histoire des réécritures, en considérant la simple transposition dans une autre aire culturelle ou la nécessaire adaptation à un contexte nouveau, mais de regarder de plus près les formes de refus qui sont inhérentes aux réutilisations de toutes sortes, en tentant de cerner ce qui, jusque dans l’hommage, se glisse de réticence, voire de rejet profond. Les études réunies en ce volume émanent d’un colloque tenu en Sorbonne en décembre 2015. Pour prendre la mesure de ces résistances, elles balisent un large empan chronologique (du XVIIe siècle à nos jours), culturel (Angleterre, France, Belgique, Allemagne, Espagne, Italie, Canada) et générique (pièce, essai, pamphlet, film, fanfiction).
