Abstract
Com grande satisfação, agradeço o convite e a honra de proferir esta aula inaugural do segundo semestre de 1997 desta simpática e promissora Univer- sidade Estadual de Feira de Santana. Trata-se, modestamente, de uma aula inaugural e não de uma aula magna. É uma proposta de reflexão conjunta que, ao inaugurar um novo semestre, pretende inaugurar uma nova reflexão ou uma fase nova de aprofundamen- to da reflexão para aqueles que já a fazem. Não é uma aula magna, porque não se pretende maior que outras, na esteira da hipótese de um magister dixit, de alguém que tem a grande verdade a ser revelada. É apenas aula que se ancora na hipótese da esteira da construção coletiva do conhecimento, na qual muitos são os sujeitos de um processo que, por ser processo, não é instantâneo nem é dado, mas é resultado de esforço de muitos.
