Abstract
ResumoEm se tratando de equações polinomiais, no século XII, o matemático Sridhara determinou a fórmula atual para resolução das equações do segundo grau, conhecidas como Bhaskara.Em 1545 Girolamo Cardano publicou o método para resolução das equações do terceiro e quarto graus, atualmente conhecido como método de Cardano-Tartaglia.Mas foi o matemático francês E. Galois que ao completar o trabalho de Abel mostrou não ser possível uma solução por radicais para equações polinomiais de grau maior que quatro.Baseado no contexto acima é fácil saber se um polinômio de grau menor ou igual a quatro possui somente raízes reais.Dessa forma, utilizando as matrizes de Hurwitz vamos abordar o método que verifica quando um polinômio de grau qualquer possui somente raízes reais e confrontar tal método com as soluções por radicais das equações de grau: dois, três e a equação biquadrática.
