Abstract
A Atenção Primária à Saúde (APS) é considerada como porta de entrada do Sistema de Atenção à Saúde, que integra e coordena o cuidado atuando na resolução da maioria das necessidades de saúde da população (JESUS et al, 2015). A Estratégia Saúde da Família (ESF) é considerada o instrumento prioritário da Atenção Primária e tem caráter substitutivo em relação à rede de serviços básicos tradicionais nos territórios em que atua. Ao contrário do modelo assistencial tradicional, centrado na doença e no hospital, a ESF prioriza as ações de proteção e promoção à saúde dos indivíduos e da família, tanto adultos quanto crianças, sadios ou doentes, de forma integral e contínua (PEREIRA et al, 2018).
