Medycyna jako nauka poruszająca problemy filozoficzne, oprócz opisywania morfologii zjawisk fizjologicznych i choro bowych, tworzy również modele rozumienia przyczyn powstawania chorób.Zintegrowany model medyczny to próba dokonania syntezy zaburzeń psychicznych związanych z zespołem dezadaptacji do stresu z powstawaniem chorób przewlekłych, postulatami integracji leczenia psychofarmakologicznego z somatycznym, respektowania limitów biolo gicznych organizmu i fizjologicznych mechanizmów samoregulacyjnych, jak również rozwój psychiatrii prewencyjnej, w której leczenie farmakologiczne ma charakter kosmetyczny -ma służyć odzyskaniu, a nie utrzymaniu zdrowia.Utrzymanie zdrowia to odpowiedzialność pacjenta w zakresie przestrzegania zaleceń pozafarmakologicznych formu łowanych przez kosmetologię psychiatryczną.
