Abstract
La pandémie du coronavirus a placé le monde sous le choc des représentations qu’il a des problèmes et des solutions qui touchent son organisation, voire son existence. Sur l’échelle des risques anticipés (risques politiques, risques climatiques, etc.), la crise sanitaire confirme les inégalités produites par le système capitaliste quant aux moyens d’atténuer, sinon de gérer la menace, mais révèle aussi que, contrairement aux autres menaces documentées, les moyens « ne suffisent pas » à soustraire une population et son organisation sociale, politique et économique, aux impacts généralisés d’une nouvelle maladie. Cette crise était pourtant anticipée (Alexander, 2019 ; NIC, 2017 ; Rubin, 2011) et ses impacts sur la mobilité des personnes étaient prévisibles (Santos del Valle, 2020 ; NIC, 2017, 2008). Quel avenir pour le tourisme dans un contexte dont l’instabilité multiforme semble s’accélérer ? Ce chapitre explorera, à partir de la démarche prospective, quels scénarios d’anticipation ont dominé au cours des 10 dernières années et comment la pandémie risque de créer de nouveaux angles morts dans la révision des scénarios d’anticipation à l’horizon 2035, comme ce fut le cas au lendemain des attentats du 11 septembre 2001.
