Quand se présente l’occasion, pour l’architecte, de s’intéresser à l’idée du sacré, certaines notions sont évoquées : habitation véritable et originelle, imagina­tion (ou imaginaire) et récits fondateurs, enchantement ou ré-enchantement du monde. C’est une de ces occasions que le présent article relate, à travers la concep­tion d’un projet de lieu sacré (sacred space) destiné à de jeunes Inuit du Nunavik. Le cadre conceptuel, principalement issu de la réflexion théorique en architecture, côtoie certaines notions importantes de la géographie culturelle et de l’anthro­polo­gie, ainsi que quelques images d’art inuit. Ensemble, ces idées lancent une aventure dans l’imagination, vécue et rêvée. Les projets présentés restent exploratoires : ils sont le fruit d’une activité pédagogique et n’ont donc pas été construits. Ils illustrent tout de même la richesse de la recherche-création en architecture.
