Abstract

Cnidoscolus urens, popularmente conhecida como cansanção, é muito utilizada como planta medicinal. O objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar a alelopatia e a citotoxicidade de C. urens por meio do bioensaio Allium cepa L. Para tanto, foi realizada a análise do crescimento das raízes de cebola, distribuídas em diferentes concentrações da infusão das raízes de C. urens e preparadas lâminas para realizar a contagem das células meristemáticas e determinar o índice mitótico. Os resultados apresentaram alelopatia significativa no tratamento C (50g/L), e redução no índice mitótico para todas as concentrações. Portanto, os resultados indicam efeito antineoplásico a partir da concentração da infusão em 50 g/L, e corroboram com o que a literatura descreve quanto às propriedades antiproliferativas tumorais das proteínas de C. urens, porém, mais estudos são necessários para investigar as condições e circunstâncias que podem levar aos resultados obtidos por meio deste bioensaio.
