Abstract
En el marco del Año Internacional del Ecoturismo (2002), la OMT encargó una colección de siete estudios de mercado pioneros. La investigación abarca 7 importantes mercados considerados como « mercados emisores de ecoturismo ». Se trata de un estudio comparativo, por lo que se ha empleado en todos los países una definición común de ecoturismo y una metodología similar. Además de los resultados, las publicaciones contienen una lista completa de los tour operadores que trabajan en el ámbito del turismo de naturaleza y del ecoturismo en cada país.
