Abstract
Nous proposons un regard auto-ethnographique sur les rapports entre le sujet femme, les traces retenues de la mémoire à son sujet dans les archives et la représentation des femmes dans le récit historique acadien. Pour les fins de notre étude, les archives sont examinées comme lieux de dépôt et de conservation du patrimoine, alors que le récit historique est défini comme une lecture globale, consensuelle et représentative des grandes lignes du passé d’une collectivité. Or, dans la constitution du récit historique comme dans la collecte et la conservation des archives, des valeurs sont assignées à ce qui est retenu, préservé et représenté. Ces valeurs assignées aident à expliquer le retard dans la construction d’un traitement historien effectif sur le sujet femme en Acadie.
