Cosmo-Financial Imaginaries: BeeDAO as Infrastructural Art Prototype for Planetary Regeneration

Abstract
This paper explores the relationship between artistic blockchain experimentation and technological imaginaries centered on interspecies collective agency. We focus on BeeDAO, an artist-run urban project in the form of a DAO dedicated to bees’ well-being. Our analysis exemplifies how infrastructural art reimagines economic value in the context of Regenerative Finance (ReFi). Describing its economic order as cosmo-financial, we examine BeeDAO’s political orientation, governance model, and ecological techno-agency. The challenges of the project are discussed to highlight blockchain's specificities as cybernetic and automated systems. We offer a critical and creative approach to cyber-system design, highlighting its political and aesthetic economy implications.
