Abstract
El empleo precario y el desempleo se están generalizando en nuestra sociedad como un problema estructural que se asocia con el aumento de la vulnerabilidad. El papel y la utilidad de la formación a lo largo de la vida a través de itinerarios individualizados que contemplen habilidades especialmente actitudinales son el objeto de nuestra investigación. A este respecto se presenta un diseño de investigación cualitativo sobre qué competencias tienen mayor repercusión en la inserción laboral. La muestra integra 525 personas desempleadas en situación de vulnerabilidad de Asturias que participan en proyectos de búsqueda de empleo. Como resultados cabe destacar que las competencias son valoradas, especialmente aquellas relacionadas con habilidades personales. Los resultados destacan el papel de la formación en competencias a lo largo de la vida que tengan impacto laboral, personal y social.
