Abstract
Les jeunes réfugiés cumulent traumatismes, exil et parfois perte de l’environnement familial. Pour dépasser ces obstacles, ils ont besoin d’être entourés et soutenus par des adultes fiables, que ce soit par des membres de leur famille ou de la société d’accueil. Particulièrement à la période de l’adolescence, les questions traumatiques et transculturelles peuvent être à l’origine de difficultés d’ajustement entre ces jeunes et les adultes qui les entourent. Ces derniers, bousculés dans leurs repères personnels ou culturels, peuvent perdre leur compétences « adultes », leur « fonctions parentales », et ne plus arriver à entourer les jeunes réfugiés comme ils en auraient besoin. A l’aide d’exemples cliniques, sont abordés les besoins en « fonctions adultes » des jeunes réfugiés et les tribulations identitaires qu’ils peuvent vivre face à un monde adulte qui peine à les contenir.
