Abstract
Si tout rituel ou rite prend acte de changement, même minimal, le rite de passage, lui, traduit le traitement psychoculturel des groupes sociaux à l’égard de moments-clés de l’existence, individuelle ou collective, sous rythme temporel linéaire ou cyclique. La théorisation d’A. Van Gennep, suivie de celle de V.W. Turner, insiste sur la scansion tripartite rituelle, mettant en scène séparation d’avec le statut ou le monde antérieur, attente et imprégnation de savoirs dans une a-structure, et (re)intégration dans la société. L’éclatement des formes traditionnelles de rites de passage, sous divers facteurs, vient questionner non pas tant une orthodoxie que les défis actuels de développement des êtres et des relations plus ou moins extensives entre sociétés.
