Abstract

INTRODUÇÃO: O climatério é um dos ciclos da vida da mulher, trazendo grandes alterações fisiológicas no corpo feminino, sendo por vezes confundido com a menopausa. Os sintomas se assemelham, como ondas de calor e o enfraquecimento dos músculos do assoalho pélvico que, por sua vez, levam a uma disfunção sexual, causando grande prejuízo na vida da mulher. METODOLOGIA: Caracterizou-se por uma busca na literatura nas bases de dados Scielo, Lilacs, BVMS, PsycINFO e Medline e contou com critérios de inclusão e exclusão, sendo, ao final, selecionados nove artigos. RESULTADOS: Os resultados apontaram melhoras no quesito qualidade de vida e função sexual das pacientes com os exercícios fisioterapêuticos, havendo destaque para a cinesioterapia, pilates e eletroestimulação. CONCLUSÃO: A intervenção da fisioterapia se faz extremamente necessária na fase de climatério da mulher, para prevenir ou tratar a fraqueza dos músculos do assoalho pélvico, que podem acarretar em disfunções sexuais.
