Abstract
This chapter focuses on company finance. It looks into the nature of a limited company. It also considers company formation, separate legal entity, limited liability, and perpetual life. The chapter also discusses characteristics of the main external sources of finance available to limited companies. It highlights the roles of a stock exchange and venture capital. Debentures are long-term loans raised by a company where security is usually provided for a loan. Additionally, the chapter references the Corporate Governance Code in line with building responsible business practices after looking into the reporting requirements of company directors. It includes the types of share capitals.
