Abstract
Este artículo presenta un análisis mediático de Veneno, primera caída (2018) como punto de partida para reflexionar sobre los muchos desafíos que ha enfrentado la cultura popular contemporánea. Se interpreta al cuadrilátero como un espacio performativo más que atlético, donde la dialéctica entre la cuadra técnica contra la cuadra ruda nos permite repasar algunas encrucijadas de la identidad dominicana. Parto de la polisemia de la ruina (Zambrano; Buck-Morss) para mostrar distintas modalidades por medio de las cuales la nostalgia vehiculiza imaginarios comunitarios profanados. Su movimiento es coherente con el estado de dejadez en que se encuentra este archivo televisivo.
