Abstract
À la fois historique et récente, d’ici et d’ailleurs, la francophonie britanno-colombienne se distingue de manière importante de l’Acadie et de l’Ontario français, deux francophonies canadiennes en situation minoritaire bien connues. Avec le foisonnement de nouvelles recherches des dernières années, le moment est propice de faire le point sur cette francophonie qui reste largement méconnue. Les thématiques étudiées sont variées, mais l’éducation reste une préoccupation centrale, même dans les écrits en histoire et en science politique. Le thème de l’éducation, ici, renvoie à l’accès à des écoles de langue française, l’enseignement-apprentissage du français, la formation des enseignantes et des enseignants, ainsi que des enjeux liés à l’identité, l’inclusion et le plurilinguisme. Les recherches présentées sont bien ancrées dans la province, mais elles s’inscrivent dans des débats plus larges, offrant des clés pour analyser des thèmes émergents dans l’ensemble des francophonies canadiennes et à l’international.
