Abstract
Abstract Thurstan Brewin is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians who, after war service, trained at Guy’s Hospital, London; spent five years in Canada with the Ontario Cancer Foundation; 26 years as a Consultant in Clinical Oncology in Glasgow; and has since worked with three medical charities: Marie Curie Cancer Care, the Sue Ryder Foundation, and Healthwatch. He is the main author of two books: Relating to the Relatives and The Friendly Professional, and has written in medical journals on various subjects including clinical trials, medical ethics, and complementary medicine.
