L'erdafitinib est un inhibiteur de kinase du récepteur du facteur de croissance des fibroblastes (FGFR) qui a été approuvé pour le traitement des patients atteints de carcinome urothélial métastatique ou localement avancé. Il est également à l'étude pour le traitement d'autres types de cancer. Cet agent chimiothérapeutique oral fait l'objet d'une mise en garde concernant les effets indésirables oculaires potentiels, notamment la rétinopathie séreuse centrale et la sécheresse oculaire liées au traitement. Ce rapport de cas décrit un homme caucasien de 88 ans qui a été pris en charge par la clinique ophtalmologique au cours d'un traitement par erdafitinib pour un carcinome urothélial métastatique. Le patient a développé des épisodes asymptomatiques de rétinopathie séreuse centrale bilatérale récurrente et rémittente liée au traitement. Il est essentiel que les fournisseurs de soins oculaires reconnaissent les effets indésirables oculaires potentiels liés à l'erdafitinib, à sa classe de médicaments et aux médicaments qui ciblent des voies similaires. Une communication efficace et une cogestion attentive avec l'oncologie sont essentielles pour fournir des soins de qualité à ce sous-ensemble de patients. Grâce à la coordination des soins, une posologie efficace, mais tolérable peut offrir au patient un meilleur taux de survie et une meilleure qualité de vie.
