Abstract
Un modèle de galère marchande vénitienne se trouve dans les collections du musée national de la marine depuis le XIXe siècle. Daté de 1726, ce modèle a longtemps dérouté les spécialistes. Il était considéré comme un projet jamais réalisé et anachronique. En fait, il s’agit du modèle de la galère de Mercanzia, la dernière galère marchande de la République de Venise, qui a navigué jusqu’au début du XVIIIe siècle. Ce modèle provient de la salle des maquettes de l’Arsenal de Venise.
