Abstract
Intrauterine growth restriction exposure (IUGR), a type of early life adversity, increases the risk for developing several disorders, including metabolic and psychiatric conditions. The biological mechanism underlying this effect remains unclear, but the nucleus accumbens (NAc) has been implicated and males and females are affected differently. We used RNA-sequencing from the nucleus accumbens of adult Sprague Dawley rats (N=10/group and sex) exposed to intrauterine food restriction (FR) and controls (AdLibs) to identify genes sensitive to IUGR in a sex-specific manner.
