Cet article fait suite à celui sur les caractéristiques et les propriétés des titres adossés à des créances hypothécaires qui a été publié dans le denier numéro d’Assurances et gestion des risques. Nous comparons dans cette suite le fonctionnement du marché des titres adossés à des créances hypothécaires aux États-Unis avec celui du marché canadien. Notre article se penche sur une analyse comparative du marché canadien et du marché américain afin d’en comprendre les différences. La compréhension du fonctionnement du marché des créances hypothécaires est essentielle pour évaluer le pourquoi et le comment de la crise des hypothèques à haut risque qui fait rage depuis la fin de l’année 2007.
