Abstract
Matrices have a central place in modern computation and are often introduced in high school. This chapter does not presuppose knowledge of matrices, however, or try to teach the standard curriculum. Instead, we travel quickly to a new place in the linear algebra landscape (we might as well call it Bohemia, for BOunded-HEight Matrices of Integers (BOHEMI)) and turn you loose to explore on your own. As we write this chapter, there is not a lot known about this area, and you may very well discover something new yourself. We're not kidding.
