Cet article présente l’utilisation de l’approche biomimétique pour évaluer la performance environnementale de scénarios de service en mobilité urbaine. Un scénario de référence et deux scénarios alternatifs prospectifs en mobilité sur l’île de Montréal au Québec seront analysés avec l’outil BiomiMETRIC. Cet outil permet la quantification de la performance au regard de chacun des dix principes de biomimétisme à l’aide de méthodes quantitatives issues de l’analyse de cycle de vie, complétée par des questions qualitatives évaluées et pondérées par l’utilisateur.L’analyse comparative du scénario initial de référence (0 Statu quo) avec les deux scénarios prospectifs en mobilité (1 Transport collectif et 2 Résilience aléas) par l’approche biomimétique permet de conclure que les scénarios prospectifs en mobilité requièrent une action corrective au niveau de l’intégration des principes de biomimétisme 7 : Rester en équilibre avec la biosphère et 8 : Utiliser les déchets comme ressources. Les scénarios alternatifs apportent cependant une réduction moyenne des impacts évaluée à 25 % et 59 %, respectivement par rapport au scénario 0 Statu quo. L’approche biomimétique offre un angle d’analyse complémentaire pour l’évaluation de la performance environnementale globale en vue de la prise de décisions dans une perspective de développement durable.
