Abstract
Lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma (LPL), also called Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia (WM), is a rare low-grade lymphoma. Non-Hodgkin lymphomas are known to be among the most frequent malignancies in HIV-positive individuals. The following article describes the case of a 39-year-old HIV-positive patient who underwent a lobectomy for what was originally thought to be a destroyed right lobe secondary to bullous disease or chronic infection. He was diagnosed with lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma following histological examination of the specimen.
