Abstract
Cet article porte sur l’analyse de trois romans du Tournant des Lumières ayant pour objet la vie d’une femme : Adèle de Sénange d’Adélaïde de Souza (1794), La femme auteur de Félicité de Genlis (1802), et Ourika de Claire de Duras (1824). Quoique différents à plusieurs égards, il s’agit de trois textes qui nous permettent de réexaminer la centralité de l’écriture féminine dans le creuset littéraire de l’époque et de questionner en même temps les ressorts psychologiques liés à la floraison du genre romanesque à la période postrévolutionnaire en France, notamment en ce qui concerne la fonction formative et identitaire de l’écriture littéraire. Chacune à sa façon, ces écrivaines témoignent d’une nouvelle relation entre l’histoire, la littérature et le rôle social de la femme qui émerge à l’aube de la saison du réalisme.
