Abstract
L’article analyse les mises en scène du Bal, écrit par Némirovsky entre un chapitre et l’autre de David Golder, avec lequel il présente quelques points communs, à commencer par la représentation d’une famille juive. Comme le suggère le titre, tout tourne autour du bal qui aurait dû consacrer les aspirations de la famille, mais qui va précipiter, au contraire, sa défaite sociale. Il s’agit d’un texte dans lequel la théâtralité potentielle des textes de Némirovsky s’avère particulièrement évidente, en témoigne la présence de certains effets théâtraux, tels que des phrases qui tiennent lieu de didascalies. Après une brève observation de la mise en scène de Lemoine en 2013, dans laquelle prédominent les aspects comico-grotesques, l’article se penche sur la mise en scène de Bergamasco en 2015, où l’accent est mis sur la violence des sentiments et de la rivalité mère-fille.
