Abstract
L’action culturelle universitaire s’est structurée en France de longue date, dans le sillage de la politique culturelle des années 1980. Elle entretient une relation ambivalente avec les modèles dominants de politique culturelle. Les campus ont développé des approches spécifiques qui, après avoir été en marge des politiques culturelles, sont aujourd’hui au coeur des débats qui agitent ces politiques (participation, droits culturels, diversité culturelle, notamment), et ont pour point focal la remise en question de la différentiation entre publics et acteurs de la culture. Les méthodologies de projets définies avec les étudiants (où ceux-ci sont à la fois une cible de l’offre culturelle et un atout majeur de la vie culturelle des campus) donnent corps à une notion souvent assez théorique, voire fantasmée : la démocratie culturelle.
