La part du travail dans la répartition de la valeur ajoutée diminue nettement depuis plusieurs décennies. L’économiste Philippe Askenazy revient sur les évolutions des mécanismes de formation des salaires et de structuration du marché du travail qui expliquent cette tendance qui se manifeste par une modération salariale. La désindexation des salaires, la fragmentation du marché du travail, et le pouvoir de monopsone des employeurs expliquent la pression à la baisse sur les salaires. Une politique salariée fondée sur la fin des allègements de cotisations sociales, une augmentation substantielle du SMIC et des négociations de branche permettrait d’inverser cette tendance.
