Abstract
La gestion territoriale du vieillissement représente un réel défi pour les municipalités du Nouveau- Brunswick. Cette contribution illustre les changements survenus en ce domaine et, plus spécifiquement, aux infrastructures, aux équipements et aux services municipaux, entre 2014 et 2021, dans la municipalité régionale de Tracadie. L’analyse repose sur des entrevues semi-dirigées effectuées auprès d’élus locaux et d’intervenants oeuvrant auprès des aînés. Bien que les répondants aient noté une amélioration globale en matière de gestion territoriale du vieillissement, il persisterait des lacunes, particulièrement dans les anciens districts de services locaux, notamment en ce qui concerne les trottoirs et le déneigement. La mise en oeuvre d’un plan d’urbanisme qui prendrait en considération les réalités particulières des aînés permettrait sans doute d’atténuer les effets de telles carences.
