Abstract
Kecamatan Leihitu merupakan salah satu kecamatan yang ada dipulau Ambon. letak wilayah Kecamatan Leihitu berada dipesisir pantai, Maka mata pencaharian masyarakat Leihitu lebih dominan ke nelayan. Meski demikian ada juga yang berprofesi sebagai petani dan PNS. Dalam aktivitas keseharian berkaitan dengan pekerjaan mereka maka mereka membutuhkan angkutan baik untuk memasarkan hasil hasil produksi atau juga untuk perjalanan kerja. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik sosioekonomi pelaku perjalanan komuter dari wilayah Kecamatan Leihitu menuju Kota Ambon, mengidentifikasi variabel yang mempengaruhi pilihan moda transportasi menuju Kota Ambon oleh masyarakat di wilayah Kecamatan Leihitu dan menemukan proporsi pilihan jenis angkutan menuju Kota Ambon oleh masyarakat di wilayah Kecamatan Leihitu. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskrptif statistik dan metode kuantitatif yang didalamnya terdapat regresi linier berganda dan regresi logistik binomial. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa yang mempengaruhi secara signifikan pemilihan jenis angkutan olehpelaku perjalanan rute Kecamatan Leihitu – Kota Ambon yaitu waktu perjalanan, tarif perjalanan, tujuan perjalanan, dan alasan memilih moda. Model yang dihasilkan adalah Y = 2,079 – 0,005 X2 - 1.595E-005 X3 + 0,075 X4 – 0,353 X5. Dari model tersebut, menghasilkan proporsi pilihan jenis angkutan oleh masyarakat di Kecamatan Leihitu lebihdominan angkutan umum sebesar 58,3 %, Sedangkan masyarakat yang menggunakan kendaraan pribadi sebesar 41,7 %.
