Abstract
Ce texte explore le paradoxe inhérent à la création musicale sur support fixe, également connue sous le nom de musique acousmatique : comment donner du mouvement à une matière sonore qui est, par nature, figée sur un support ? Inspiré par la biologie, les sciences cognitives, la philosophie bergsonienne, les systèmes dissipatifs et mon travail avec la chorégraphe Marie Chouinard, je tente d’établir un cadre épistémologique de ma pratique compositionnelle. Le texte commence par retracer brièvement l’évolution du son dans la musique classique occidentale, pour ensuite aborder les défis propres à l’écriture musicale en dehors du contexte harmonique et des instruments traditionnels. Cela conduit à l’exploration de stratégies d’écriture qui émergent d’une réflexion phénoménologique sur la matière et le mouvement. Certains concepts sont introduits et explicités par des techniques visant à rendre la matière sonore fluide et dynamique. Cette manière de faire est ensuite recadrée dans plusieurs créations de Marie Chouinard.
