Abstract
Trans+ people include a wide range of individuals who do not identify with the sex or gender assigned to them at birth. They may identify as men, women, trans, transgender, nonbinary, or any of hundreds of other identities. They may, or may not, take steps to better express their gender identities, such as altering their appearances through social, hormonal, or surgical techniques. Trans+ people are vulnerable to many forms of institutionalized, systemic, and interpersonal discrimination. Despite these realities, most Trans+ people are happy, successful, and contributing members of society.
