Low Power Flexible Sensor for Ambient Light-based Blood Oxygen Saturation Measurement
Bibliographic record
Abstract
This paper demonstrates a novel reflective mode ambient light-based blood oxygen saturation (SpO <inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> ) measurement sensor. To add flexibility the sensor is fabricated using plastic film patterning. This also makes the sensor light-weight and comfortable to wear. The sensor design is based on maximizing the capture of reflected red and green PPG (photoplethysmography) signals from skin under ambient light conditions. Using the reflected ref and green PPG signals the SpO <inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> is measured. The sensor is tested on three participants and results show that the flexible sensor's measurements have an average deviation of 1.5% SpO <inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> and a maximum deviation of 3% SpO <inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> from reference measurements under ambient light conditions. The sensor does not need any LED to be turned on for measurement, thus, making it a low power, non-invasive, continuous SpO <inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> monitoring options for wearables.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
