Abstract
La décolonisation et la francophonie sont souvent séparées l’une de l’autre dans l’imaginaire public et le discours intellectuel. Ce positionnement néglige une contribution importante historique et contemporaine qu’apporte la francophonie à la décolonisation. Pour optimiser cet apport, je propose une théorie de décolonisation francophone qui correspond au contexte canadien. Cette théorie s’appuie sur des conceptualisations et des discours sur la francophonie et la décolonisation pour affirmer que la décolonisation francophone contrecarre certaines idéologies et pratiques coloniales qui ne cessent de reproduire des iniquités sociales et raciales contemporaines, y compris le racisme antinoir. La décolonisation francophone intègre les objectifs du mouvement Les vies noires comptent parce que ce mouvement renforce la décolonisation et ses objectifs au Canada, tout en soutenant les équités sociales et raciales que la décolonisation vise à achever.
